Dino by The Mountain Carol

We are thrilled to bring you the newest track and video from Saranac, NY-based indie electro-pop-jazz band The Mountain Carol called “Dino,” which is slated to appear on their upcoming new release Starkiller and the Banshees, due out this summer.

With a sound that is reminiscent of The Talking Heads having lunch with David Bowie, The Mountain Carol have a sound that will bring you in immediately. Fans of Ought, Mac Demarco, Palm, and Future Islands will also enjoy their sound.

“‘Dino’ was the first vocal track to be recorded for Starkiller and the Banshees, and Bruce [Wilson, vocals] was still in the late stages of laryngitis at the time. Yet we all agreed it was the most emotionally powerful delivery of all the songs on the record.”

After reading that quote, I had to go back and listen to the track a third time. You wouldn’t think that Bruce had been battling laryngitis (unless you knew), but it certainly lent itself to the track nicely.

Check it out and let us know what you’re thinking!
